Attitude or Gratitude?

It's been said that you can't receive more in life if you are not grateful for what you have now; if you can't acknowledge what's right in your life, your glass will be perpetually half-empty; impossible to fill no matter how much shit you try to pour into it.

This month we celebrate American independence. Today, the 4th to most people simply means fireworks, corny red, white, and blue party hats, BBQ's, and a day off of work. But let's not take for granted the significance of this day in history that provides us with life as we know it.

Don't forget, there are situations in the world outside of the bubble you and I live in that repress, control, mistreat, or neglect their inhabitants all together.

Yes, we have our share of problems but, c'mon-you know there is much about America to be grateful for - first and foremost, our independence.

In honor of this holiday, I will post at least 3 things I am grateful for each day (more if the mood or day insinuates it). You should try this, too.

I think both you and I will be amazed at the power of what a few thoughts of gratitude can do for the mind, body, and soul.

Today I am glad for:

* 3-day weekends

* Self-discipline, which reaps rewards like good health, an enviable credit score, financial fitness, career growth, and six pack abs.

* Long Summer days
